Hi, I’m Danying Cao, a live music production and design artist passionate about crafting immersive, emotionally driven experiences through light, sound, and technology. With a background in both statistics and creative production, I bring a unique balance of technical precision and artistic intuition to every project.
I’m currently completed my Master’s degree in Live Music Production and Design at Berklee College of Music, where I’ve had the opportunity to design and program for a wide range of performances — from rock concerts to poetic immersive installations. My toolkit includes ETC EOS, GrandMA3, DiGiCo consoles, Ableton Live, TouchDesigner, Unreal Engine, and more.
I’ve worked as a FOH audio engineer in a grand theater and as a lighting designer and programmer for narrative-driven shows like Garden of the Asylum and Signals from the Void. I love collaborating with performers, directors, and creative teams to bring stories to life in real time — whether that’s through a carefully timed lighting cue or a spatialized soundscape that moves with the audience.
At the core of my work is a belief that live production is not just about gear or cues — it’s about emotion, memory, and creating shared moments that resonate beyond the stage.
Thank you!
